About Us

My name is Stephanie and I am a wife (to a wonderful and very patient man) and mother of three beautiful girls. It's really kind of a funny story of how Old Things New Designs came to be. It all started with my neighbor's encouragement to start planning for my oldest daughter Shelby's high school graduation party. With over a year to plan I had way too much time on my hands. When I was introduced to the DIYer's( do-it-yourself) drug of choice "PINTEREST," a website dedicated to women, it equipped me with inspirations to go completely overboard. Living in the historic town of Stillwater, MN I found myself in a junker's paradise.  I have never been a garage sale person, but that has all changed. There isn't a sale I don't at least do a slow drive by to scope if there are tables and chairs that I can scoop up. I also comb the streets looking for discarded treasures and surfing Craigslist has become my new favorite past time.  My poor family has suffered through a year of  endless projects using paint, decoupage, fabric, and of course glitter, and being asked endlessly, "What do you think?","Do you like it?" They had all hoped it would end after the "Big Graduation Party", but I am just beginning. I am fully consumed and enjoying every minute. With a promise to my sister-in-law that I would keep all the furniture for her daughter's upcoming graduations in the next two years, I came up with this crazy plan to rent it out. Please give me a call for your next big or small event and I will help you make it one of a kind. If you have a piece of furniture you want to change I'm sure I can come up with some kind of fun idea to repurpose it and paint for you. Be sure to check back with me because I always have something I'm working on that might be just what you wanted for your party... It isn't what you serve at your next gathering, but how you serve it!
